a statement of how in "peacetime" after a long, brutal war, ONI and UNSC will shuffle out the vanguards of humanity (those who know too much: Halsey, Mendez, the old Spartans) and place their own psychopaths in their stead. Something about the quote from Lasky about how now they must not be modest, but instead lead and pave humanity's way through the stars. Essentially, the war is never over.
But in the end, Palmer and her homicidal thirst was justified, while Halsey's truth seeking was marginalized.
It's a shame, I thought Palmer was alright in the main campaign, but then in SpOps she went bat-shit nazi commander. Like the optimist I was, I held out hope this was intentional and was going to make her a villain or anti-hero.
So, I'm a bit burned out on Palmer and her shenanigans.
