I hope not, even though that's what 343 is apparently aiming at. They don't really seem to understand what the fans want (that is, the majority - there are always exceptions). I think the percentage that crave for more Palmer, Spartan-IVs and Infinity is a lot smaller than those who'd like to see a continuation of the stories of the Spartans and other characters from pre-343 fiction.
I have no problem with introducing new characters. It's just the way 343 handled the transition that feels so inherently forced: all these new elements popped out of thin air and supplanted nearly everything that came before. And now, despite all the fan feedback, 343i keeps desperately clinging to them and are trying to convince us how awesome they are when they really aren't.
