You don't need to have played BLOPS2 to acknowledge that its long period at the top of XBL is proof that a game can consistently perform that well, even in today's AAA-saturated market.

This is kind of a worthless paragraph. I had a longer reply in mind, but I'll just say this: I don't find much value in arguing with people that their value judgments are wrong. People in this thread liked how good previous Halos were, and either wish that Halo 4 was as good, or believe that Halo 4 is as good and was unfairly judged. When you lament the loss of "X" between Brood War and Starcraft 2, how valuable would you consider a comment along the lines of "well you shouldn't want X, you should want Y?"
