I love hindsight, and after 52 years on this rock I can learn more from my mistakes and I can be smarter in the future. But hindsight with a game after the game has shipped doesn't help the shortcoming in that game. I respect your opinions and I'm not intending to ruffle feathers. Having said that, what has always interested me with the Halo games is the actual game play of the campaign. What really got on my nerves with the Halo 4 campaign was the sappy relationship between the MC and Cortana. After a few times playing the H4 campaign, I just wanted Cortana to shut the hell up. Basically, I would like a lot less story and a whole lot more fun and entertaining levels to play. For me, there isn't even one level in H4 that I want to replay. So H4 sits in a drawer in my entertainment center gathering dust.

Yes, I believe Halo would have been better if it stayed under Bungie's control. 343 Industries claims to love Halo, but they don't know what makes a great Halo campaign (my opinion) because they just inherited it.

I believe Bungie understood what the campaign players craved the most. Halo CE started it all and I still play it because it's fun. Bungie stumbled somewhat with Halo 2 (in my opinion) but it had the most entertaining combat dialogue in the franchise. The Halo 3 campaign, to me, is the best of the Halo games because of the huge variety of fun levels to play. Interesting "boot on the ground" combat, massive vehicle battles and such. ODST is my second favorite. I thought the squadmates story and battles were comparable to Halo 3's, but the New Mombassa Streets was rather boring simply because there were so few enemies to fight.

You love the Halo universe and that is great, I hope it continues to entertain you. For me, I'm all about fun and entertaining game play and Halo 4 didn't entertain me at all. To each his own!

I still play the Bungie Halo games. I'm not sure if I said I don't want Halo anymore? It's Halo 4 that I don't play.
