: This is rather negative to say but, I was thinking last evening, after
: several hours playing ODST Firefight on Lost Platoon, that Microsoft
: should have given Halo back to Bungie as a thank you for the game
: franchise making them trainloads of money. I think that Halo needs to rest
: for a few years. I believe 343 and has no idea what to do with this
: franchise. Besides that, Halo appears to be just a vehicle used to launch
: low quality, inexpensive Halo related throw-away content. I would like to
: see future Halo games just get back to the basics. The Gears of War games

I don't want Halo to sit.
I want Halo to keep going - I just want quality storytelling.
And as subjective as all these comments about Halo 4's quality are, I liked it. I like how 343 is progressing. I like what they're doing with the story. Could it have been better? Of course, how depends on who you talk to - but everything can always be better. Hindsight is always better.

I don't know if Halo would be better still under Bungie's wing than 343's. Do you?
We know Bungie made mistakes, we know Bungie had different priorities with the Halo universe. For me, 343's priorities were more focused on enhancing and continuing the Halo universe beyond just the video games. That's what I want. I just want them to make sure that the stories they tell are the best they can be.

I hate all this Anti-343 sentiment. Bungie wasn't perfect. 343 isn't perfect. We love Halo. So we need encourage 343 to continue and to improve. If you (general you) don't want Halo for a while, then take a hiatus. But don't take Halo away from me! ;P
