: Video game development needs to be a vastly more transparent process,
: especially when games are so expensive and subscriptions extend the life

I hadn't put my finger on it till now, but this is something that soured me with Halo 4 and Destiny 1 (pre and post release). I was so used to ViDoc after ViDoc, forum interaction with developers and a general level of supposed transparency with Halo-era Bungie, that the quiet surrounding decisions, screw-ups and general development on both titles left me to fill the void with biased (one way or the other) internet users for information. Bungie being in bed with Activision and 343I with Microsoft might keep us from experiencing that level of insight that we 'grew up with' ever again.
