I actually think it would look better in-game than with the CGI. There's something off with the cinematics that have been shown. I don't know exactly how to describe it. It's like they went overboard somewhere with the CGI, and it doesn't even look real or life-like even though it's like that's what they want it to look like.
I remember what Square did back in the day with their CGI cinematics in a game like Kingdom Hearts 2, and it looked shockingly realistic and believable for its time. This Halo stuff is totally not that. If this opinion is unpleasant to Wu or others, oh well. I think the Elites look terrible and fake. The Spartan seems to stand out fine, but there's something off about that CGI and the cutscene in general with its entire atmosphere. In my opinion. Stated as an absolute, because, well, I absolutely believe in my opinion that it looks pretty terrible.
: Not all change is progress, you're right, though we must also not forget that
: to progress, you eventually need to change. Halo 2 changed so much, and
: look at how high we put it on a pedestal. Many people complained then,
: too.
I heard a lot of this with many people here defending Halo 4 and telling me I was dead wrong about numbers and people and things and the game and all that good stuff. The population and the masses and Schooly Was Right back me up. At the end of the day, MCC will be a huge hit. I'm not worried about "change" for cinematics. I don't care that the Arbiter's armor changed. I'm saying that the armor looks fake, outrageous, and terrible because of whatever they've done with those graphics and that CGI. All out of whack. Tone whatever it is they did down a bit.
