There's a vast gulf between fans not liking this change and fans not liking change at all. If fans didn't like change at all, nobody would have bothered to play the sequels because they were obviously different. People would dislike the Mark VI MJOLNIR in Halo 2/3 simply because it was different from Halo: CE's Mark V. Same with the changes in Jackals between Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3.

You can disagree that a particular change is bad, but accusing detractors of not liking change at all does a disservice to them and adds nothing to the conversation. Don't do that.
