I went back and looked at the original Blood Gulch - yes, the sky is blue, and yes, there are some green trees, but the vast majority of the play area is brown or muddy green (with a little grey for contrast).

I agree that some of the H2A maps are too filtered - but punching up the colors isn't always the answer.
