: Because Achronos and other Bungie admins said so.
: For the Bungie era of Halo 2*, 2004-2010.
: The end.
: Whether or not you or anyone else agrees doesn't matter, because during that
: time it was their product. They get to decide what unintended glitches,
: hacks, quirks, etc are positive, and what ones are negative. Which ones to
: let live, and which ones to stamp out or punish. It's not the way they
: intended you to use their game, and it doesn't matter if you (the player)
: don't like it.
: It is not the same thing to say "Well, Bungie didn't intend us to break
: the camera in theater mode" or some other asinine example- they get
: to choose. Done. The end. That's the law.
: Insert_parent_taking_to_child_because_I_said_so.
: They didn't like it in matchmaking because it negatively impacts the
: experience they want you to have.
: In customs they don't give a shit because it doesn't affect everyone else.
: Very simple, sound logic.
: Enter 343...
: Notice above where I said Bungie era Halo 2 ... 343 can choose to change
: this because the re-release is their game, their experience .
: And they probably will.
: What I would like to see everyone agree on in this year of 2014, is that in
: BUNGIE'S HALO 2, BXR (etc) WAS DEFINED AS CHEATING.
: [^^Notice, I didn't say if you agree or disagree with their verdict, because
: that is irrelevant. It is the result. Why people argue something in the
: past that was concretely defined by the makers, I'll never know. ]
: This very well could change for 343's Halo 2, and then the people who
: disagreed then can rejoice now. The sides of the argument will flip flop
: (Probably.)
: Am I the only person that sees it this way?
: (I wanted life back to the forums, but not like this. NOT LIKE THIS!!)
You are not the only person who sees it this way. I agree in full. That's why I'm calling this entire portion of the thread about BXR extremely stupid. It's the same argument that already happened a decade ago, and like you said, if anything it will just get reversed.
Whatever happened to the good old days where people bashed on Halo 4 and how terrible it was while the majority of people here defended the game and said "you don't know about the actual numbers, 343 hasn't released them" and "I enjoy the game and play it all the time" and "you're wrong" when in reality "Schooly Was Right" and "I Was Too"? You know, things that made sense and were/are fixable, and will ideally be largely fixed by the time H5 rolls around. Rehashing a decade old argument about BXR? Holy cow. I can't wait to hear all the people who have been demanding H1 blow up over how busted of an experience that can be as far as griefing and exploits go.
But like you said, life back on the forums. This collection has the grand potential to do that, and in awesome ways. HBO game nights like the old days, where a ton of people want to get on and play any number of Halo games all at their fingertips. Roll up into Matchmaking for fun or for competition or, gasp, both! Roll into campaigns. Get that co-op on. But nope. We're arguing BXR. Again. Absolutely freaking stupid. It's here to stay. I personally consider it cheating. I also personally consider it not going anywhere, just like I did a decade ago, and I got my BR up. Time to get the BR up, people. Drop the mic.
