It's quiet because there's not much to discuss. And Bungie-focused fans have moved to Destiny/DBO. So the community is also a little smaller. IMO the most interesting posts are ponderings over story. If anything, it's not because of too much (to talk about, be it gaming or story), it's because of too little (that's filled out too much, on which to speculate). And gaming/gamer-oriented talk is more focused at Waypoint and other sites.
It only seems natural, for numerous reasons, why it's quiet around here. Not because of too many releases in too short a time :P

The front page, wherever that is, sometimes seems to get more news than here. I hear.
Often a see a tweet about some news or thing and come here to find no discussion...
