I could picture the Lekgolo evolving on a planet. There'd be billions of years for an entire ecosystem to develop.

And the Beastarium was very specific about surface gravity, mineral wealth, strip mining, and the threat of orbital bombardment. That is a lot to throw away and it doesn't seem necessary; the rings and planet can coexist and could have been reconciled.

If there is no planet there then the Lekgolo were found on a demolished Forerunner construct. How could that be the Lekgolo homeworld?

What is their home world?

• the gas giant
• the rings
• some other planet

Dropping the rocky planet does give us some mysteries. Just what is the origin of the Lekgolo? Did they evolve somewhere or did the Forerunners make them. Were they seeded on the rings post Array activation or did a machine spit them out? Are they gardeners for Forerunner constructs? Is that why there were unusual Lekgolo on Halo in Nightfall?

Can an Array pulse kill Engineers? Do their bodies count as biomass?
