That's such an exaggeration. There was a comment at semi-public demonstration (and admittedly the same demonstration and comment were given many times over a few days) about being able to go anywhere you could see, which always sounded like a pipe dream to me, and one or two planets that were only ever mentioned once or twice, I might be forgetting but those are the only lies I remember (and there's a claim that is was true at the time). Everything else that didn't come to pass was either an offhand comment ("enough concept art to build seven worlds") or really vague ("this will be a social game").

It doesn't matter much what's in it if it doesn't work, does it? It's like saying "I have a cure for cancer, but at the moment it's more of a decongestant and doesn't actually cure cancer".
