Yeah. How dare people demand products that function properly. What do they think they are? Paying customers? The gall of some people. They should be grateful they anything at all. So they get something that doesn't work right. Suck it up and deal with it. Reminds me of those whiny bitches who complained about the 360's RRoD. Oh, a third of you had your $400 console just up and die on you? Boo-hoo. MS doesn't owe you anything. *rolls eyes*
In all seriousness, releasing a broken product is always unacceptable. The fact that many gamers not only actively tolerate broken products but also criticize other gamers for complaining about broken products only serves to normalize the practice of releasing obvious betas to retail. The fact that patches can be issued is no excuse, any more than another company issuing a product recall excuses the fact that they released a product that needed to be recalled. This is starting to become more common, with some half a dozen major releases in the past month being released despite being unacceptably broken. These aren't shovelware titles being released by some two-bit publisher that most gamers haven't heard of. These are some of the big marquee titles that are expected to be among the top ten best-selling games of the year. Publishers must be held accountable for releasing broken games.
