Damn, I was going to mention ODSTs. :P Seriously, though, the guys are the UNSC's version of Navy SEALs without augmentations, and are all sent on suicidal missions sometimes (they state it's not "if" they die, but "when" they die). Being SpecOps sucks as it is, being a Spartan would be the worst thing ever.

Being a fan of architecture, I would love to visit New Alexandria, on Sargasso's main city, or in Harvest. All if the Covenant weren't complete assholes, of course. Probably future Earth would be interesting, but it's the equivalent to the 1% we have right now.

But... yeah. Probably being an 'egghead' on the UNSC Infinity, an ONI Agent if I was actually visiting new places and researching technology rather than stealing little children or being a complete amoral bastard, or being part of the colonists of new worlds (probably on the Halos as well if they hadn't remained the central figures of conflict they always are in any age).

Really, the Halo universe would be an actually awesome place to live if it wasn't full of genocidal aliens from the past or the present. Or if the Space Gestapo didn't exist. Or if the Insurrection hadn't been probably fueled by the council of batshit crazy A.I.'s.
