Looking back, I honestly feel like The Flood is one of my favorite stories. Seriously. After all these "humanity is kick-ass" and "Spartans are gods" shovelling we've been getting lately, The Flood seems very grounded, even when compared to Nylund's pieces.

Now, I may be misremembering quite a few parts of The Flood, so YMMV.
