I think if the rumor bears out to be true, MS will see a non-insignificant dip in sales, both from people who simply don't want a console with the "always on" requirement but also from a specific corner of their market where the consumers simply don't have high-speed Internet access where they live. Part of me will be surprised if they actually follow through on that because it is such a poor business decision, but then again, MS has a bit of a reputation for making bone-headed moves, so I guess we'll see what they actually end up doing. If nothing else the Internet pushback should at least make them think twice about it.
