That seems a little harsh considering that my post was (I think) friendly in tone. I just meant to put my experience out there, while taking particular note of what Levi had observed - that he probably does analyze these things more than most players.
Yes, obviously anyone with semi-functional eyes could spot the difference when switching modes. Sitting there switching back and forth and spotting the changes really wasn't what I was talking about at all (in fact, i didn't mention it at all). I was just saying that when I first saw CEA (and I'm implying the "new" graphics here, on their own, in case that wasn't clear), nothing about it jumped out at me and made me think something looked wrong. I just felt like I was in the same environment I was accustomed to. That was my experience. I don't begrudge others who didn't have the same experience.
Is it a generalization to say that this is how things appear to the "average person?" I guess, if one takes it to mean that literally EVERY person who isn't unusually observant views things identically to myself. But doesn't it seem more likely that I was simply acknowledging the difference between people who are looking at the environments analytically vs. those who are just playing through?
