: Disagree on the re-skinning. I think Saber did a great job on the game it
: looks beautiful. It did a great job of having visual continuity with
: Reach. As in, if I Play Reach first and then CEA they look like good
: sequels because the visual style and graphics are similar, unlike the jump
: from CE to H2 for example.
: I really liked CEA and think 343/Saber did an excellent job and stayed 99%
: faithful to the original.
: Of course, YMMV.
You bet MMMV.
I disagree with you 100%, Rev. A Halo 2 map pack for Halo 4 would be a travesty, mostly because Halo 4's multiplayer itself is a tragedy. Haven't touched it since the day after launch.
Say what you want about fragmenting the player base. COD hasn't had that problem, and that series spits out games like it's nothing. If 343 does Halo 2 Anniversary, they need to either ship it with the original MP engine used for Halo 2, or ship it without any multiplayer component at all. A map pack for Halo 4 just could not do that game justice. And honestly, while the CE:A map pack for Halo 1 was a joke, a Halo 4 map pack for 2:A would be downright offensive. Halo 2's multiplayer basically wrote the book on how to do multiplayer on Xbox Live. It was incredible, all modding aside. If 343 really wants to honor Halo 2 (rather than just milk it for as much money as you can), they'll set up Halo 2's multiplayer again. If it's not broke, don't fix it (again, except for the modding issue...).
