This hits it right on the nose for me. Why completely eradicate something people love? Better to upgrade yet preserve what's already there than completely remake it.

I didn't even finish it :/ Of course part of that was because I tried to play co-op and the button lag made it impossible. But for sure a large part of it was I didn't recognize a game I'd grown to love. And, as an artist myself, I was insulted that the previous work wasn't preserved.
