There are tons of different business models, but if a dev/publisher is able to make, let's say... 99.99% of all of the content in their game completely free through the addition of cosmetic/convenience microtransactions, then I'm all for it. If somebody wants to pay more than they have to for whatever reason, more power to them, and I hope they get their money's worth.

Just look at Mass Effect 3's multiplayer. 100% free (well, you did buy the game, but you get two disks with the multiplayer on both of them) multiplayer that kept getting tons, and I mean TONS of content.

Look at Warframe. The game is supported entirely by the convenience microtransactions and premium bundles. I've never felt obligated to spend real money (but I've been more than happy to shell out some real cash their way for digital bobbleheads, huehue), but the option is there if I want to show my support, and I have, but I'm glad that nobody has to. That's the thing with Req packs. You reap all of the benefits and all of the content, because someone else was more than happy to pick up your tab. Win Win Win.
