Bungie and 343i didn't want universal controls because someone could create a control scheme that was "overpowered" or had a button combo to easily one-hit-kill players or something?

Of course, Halo 2 still has that and it's not really a big deal... The only time I've heard it complained about since MCC launched was when somone found out about it, tried it a couple times, then stopped after they were asked. So that's about it.

I'd honestly rather my own unique control scheme, even if it means some douche will have a BXR control scheme or whatever. The benefits vastly outweigh the negatives.
