In Deep Space 9, Sisko gets sent back in time. He ends up in the TOS series episode "Trouble with Tribbles"
Now. The cool thing about this episode is that despite their ability to recreate the sets of TOS as seen during certain episodes of TNG, they decided to take a harder and more faithful route and edit Sisko into archived footage of the original episodes in order for him to interact with Captain Kirk and Spock and the original crew. Using clever dialogue tricks and editing, they took this modern starbase captain and placed him firmly in a show from the 60's, all without changing a thing.

Now, this leads me to 343. Truth in Halo 5 takes place during the battle of Installation 04, but as you can see, nothing looks the same. The Forward Unto Dawn from Halo 4 is nothing at all like the FuD from Halo 3. Chief's armor is nothing like it was in Halo 2 or 3. In fact, nearly everything they've touched they have redesigned in some way.

Why has no one asked about this at conventions or panels? Why isn't it more of an issue? To me, it screams of a huge lack of respect for two groups of people. The artists at Bungie that created these assets, and the fans of the series that have engrossed themselves in them.

I remember when 343i called on our on Stephen Loftus to help out with the Visual Guide and Encyclopedia, and even showcased his scale charts on Waypoint. What does that mean now that most things Loftus has spent ages on are now moot?

Are we just expected to go 'Oh, this is just how everything looks now, but don't worry I know it's the same thing?', because that's completely dishonest and I don't care that Halo 5 plays fine and is fun, ethically this company has lost something that I felt that they started with and Frankie and Bonnie Ross should be ashamed of themselves.
