I think the only Elites ever specifically mentioned at UH where the ones who crewed the station itself. It was never specifically mentioned who were on the ships. Could be wrong though, it's been a few years since I read it, and I haven't read the definitive editions of any of the books yet.

I think a lot got screwed up by Halo 2's ending fiasco. I enjoy the fiction as it is now, but Halo 3 and Reach both made a lot of problems for 343 to try and reconcile.
