: It has always been really, really clear that in regards to Earth, Regret had
: one small fleet that was just looking for artifacts, and Truth had a large
: fleet capable of taking on the defenses a homeworld would have. They had
: differing agendas.

: I'm not calling Halos story good, but if you can not follow basic points from
: just the games themselves, you are not the best judge of continuity.

I follow what happens in the games just fine, it gets confusing for me when in the book we're told "hey, the Covenant is preparing to assault earth with the largest fleet ever seen" and then that plot point gets discarded for the accidental discovery of Earth (which was all but spelled out for us ingame).

Then ODST further convolutes things with there being a third Brute only fleet that belonged to Truth for Earth as well.
