For me, DBO has already become a soup of unfamiliar terminology and character classes :P
I figure I shouldn't have any expectations going in. I've got the beta and if I really want to afterwards I can decide to cancel my preorder. But I'd rather go into Destiny like I went into Halo--eyes clear, heart open, to see if it grabs me like the Halo universe did.
