It seems that you are very serious doing this. Let me ask you a couple questions.

Do you know how to set up your own forum?
Do you have any experience with Linux, Apache (or nginx), mySQL, or PHP?
Have you considered where/how you will host this said site?
What if your site takes off and your servers can't handle the load?
Are there any other features that you care considering? A front page? A chat box?
Have you had experience developing a website before?

If you said 'No' to any of these questions, then you are probably not ready to make your own website just yet. If that's the case, definitely read into those!

But seriously, best of luck on your website.
