While I appreciate your passion, those are far too big of steps to take. In most cases, making a website costs money--lots of it. And I've yet to come across a free hosting domain that lets you make your own forum(not that I've actually been looking).

You've just stated that you want to surpass both creators of the Halo series in terms of user appeal and ease of forum use. What is your following, your hook? You need to have something that will attract visitors, something that makes them want to go there, not just say, "Oh it's a Halo forum, in a better viewing format". Because trust me--there are already hundreds of functional, well-known Halo forum sites, and millions more that AREN'T.

Before you come up with a plan like this, you need to think "What can I offer that very little to no other Halo site can?" THAT'S going to be your main selling point. Because unless you've got something unique to show us and PROVE your site is more appealing and more worth our time than the others...you've got just another empty Halo site with no one but yourself. And who needs that?
