I actually got it by going and destroying them manually, they're all one specific type of crystal (there are 4 types, it's the largest one) and there are 35 of them it checks to see if they're destroyed (the last two are just before the entrance of the cave you drop down into before getting to the terminal room, all the ones from the two by the light near the drop-off to the end of the level are unnecessary). There's something missing though, I've done it about 10 times since then and can't get it to pop again, no idea what I'm doing differently.
