Likewise. Just popped in my disc though and played through The Ark.

As I thought, there are both lights on poles and little crystal rock formations throughout the level. Both are destructible. There are maybe a dozen or less of the light poles, there are probably ~50ish little crystal rock formations. I destroyed all of them... at least, I think I did. I really searched hard for them. Played through the rest of the level normally, normal difficulty. Died once (lucky grenade) for the record. Nothing happened that I saw.

One thing though - remember at the beginning of the level when the one marine says something to the effect of "Hey, up in the sky.... is that--" before getting cut off by another marine? I've always wondered what the hell that was about. Looking up, there's a *beautiful* skybox and there's a battle raging above you in space, but there really wasn't anything that really stood out that would explain that line. Any chance it has something to do with this egg?
