If you see a dark room or some tall grass, and you have the ability to hide in them, then you'll realize that's a possible action in that map. That is indeed cool.

I'm talking about making things so fancy that all that and everything else blends together into nonsense. Environments that lack depth and information. See the original post's screenshots or a personally-troubling example like this area in Halo 4:

It's way, way too much. Especially for Halo's original, iconic aesthetics.
