Um, on the risk of beating on a dead horse (but I feel like I gotta try to set it straight anyways)...

That Konoko image on CGW (on the version for subscribers) was first drawn in pencil by Lorraine who then cleaned it up and added shadows in Photoshop. She then Streamlined her lineart, cleaned that up, then colored it in Freehand (2 versions - first with black, then with grays). The black shadowed version appeared on the Oni virtual box Bungie had at E3. The version with grays was used for everything else (7ft tall Konoko at E3, CGW cover, Bungie site, press kit, etc.) Alas, the printing of the CGW cover ended up overly saturated and with a messed up clipping path (You guys should give 'em a tip, ne?). ^_^

I would think that magazines would solicit original art where they could (like with Oni). But if they don't, they gotta make do. -Mehve
