> There are two different covers. Anyone out there help me with this? Steve, you have my scans, and now my BETTER scans. Those are from the subscription version. If you compare that to the desktop pic Bungie has up of what must be the original, it is clear that whoever implemented the art eliminated some details and actually changed the way it looks. It looks to me (a digital artist for eight years) like somebody traced the original art in Illustrator or Freehand. I know that the original was probably itself done digitally, but I can tell that it is based on a hand drawing. (I think that's the best way, anyway) Example: compare Konoko's right underarm on the original to the same spot on the cover of CGW, and you'll see what I mean about the detail. The one major color change is that there are no areas of solid black on Konoko's armor in the original, but the dark gray areas have been filled with Super Black on CGW. Why? Dunno. Art Directors. 8^P (I'm one, too!) It's nitpicking, I know, but as an artist I think the original looks much better. jz | |
