Isn't soda called "pop" somewhere in the Northern part of United States... and at the same time there is the music genre called "pop".... two different things. I'm from Texas and I have never heard somebody refer to soda as pop but I have a friend who told me that his relatives to a state somewhere in the midwest I think calls soda or soft drink by pop.
