: I'm looking forward to this the same way I look forward to any new Halo
: content and further character/universe exploration. However, I'm concerned
: they're not going to focus enough on her development as a character, and
: just showcase the moment she became a Spartan. Which isn't interesting,
: because we already know that happened. I want to see why. I want to see
: her struggle to become who she is in Spartan Ops so we can sympathize with
: her a little bit, understand her more, and I'm afraid she's not going to
: have any development at all.

I really want to have a positive attitude about everything 343 releases, but sometimes I just have a gut feeling that it's going to be the same ol' shlock.

In Mass Effect 3, they came up with a character, James Vega, who shows up out of nowhere with hardly any sort of introduction, and Bioware was trying really hard to make the player like him. They made an anime movie, a comic, and other ancillary materials about Vega. No one cares about Vega. He's just your standard muscle-bound, heroic, military dude. But that's not the part that makes people dislike Vega; it's just that this character felt SO forced and in your face.

Palmer is sort of the same character- way too forced. It's like they wrote this character to be the next Sgt. Johnson that fans will latch onto because she's such a badass. They're trying too hard.
