I actually really like the data pads. They're interesting but short enough to not break gameplay. Locke's armor being able to highlight them is really nice too. I think I found around 35 of them on my first time through.
I do love the no combat sections too. Halo 4 had a short one in the hangar and I was wishing there were more segments like that back then.
