People got annoyed because someone just pulled the scripts apart and posted the solution while everyone was having fun hunting for the thing, with solid enough hints that it would happen in a short amount of time. People felt like the feeling of the community looking for something was spoiled by someone going "eh, I just found it in this data dump. lol."

If someone digs something up from the data that nobody has any context on, I don't think anyone's ever been annoyed by that. There was no hunt to spoil or community effort ignored.
