Very good podcast. Enjoyed listening to it. Found myself nodding and agreeing with a lot of what was said.
I'd love a gametype script editor in Halo 5 - just blow the roof off of it. If 343i can't/won't give things like 1 Flag, Invasion, Race, Haloball etc. then just give the tools to the players and have done with it. Sure there will be confusion, broken gametypes, frustration - but I've seen what people in this community are capable of, and all of that will be TOTALLY worth it when the solid, well-tested, well-conceived gametypes start bubbling up.
Someone also mentioned a PC editor for Forge - so basically Sapien on steroids. What would be really cool is if you could actually network a PC interface with an instance of Forge running on your Xbox. So you still get that ability to instantly drop into the game and play around in it, but with the speed and precision of a PC interface. Doing things like a 'group select' - as one of the speakers was wishing for - would be super-fast and natural within a PC interface. Couple with high-resolution, multi-monitor interfaces and you could, say, have your entire pallet open on one screen with small icon-size previous and the game instance open in another - so you don't have to go through lists and remember what objects look like.
Obviously that would take significant development - but as Forge grew out of a development tool originally, this would be also useful in-house for them.
