In a non-PvP environment that can work. As was stated, microtransactions are not inherently evil, but only when done right. I still think it's silly that they'd try and get people to pay not to play the game, but whatever. This model when implemented into a competitive environment, like EA blatantly did in BF3, is pretty ridiculous and actually creates balancing and competitive problems from the getgo, especially where vehicular combat is involved.
