Just found out tonight that a 10+ year old Direct TV bill is till on my credit records when it shouldn't be. To start with, it was paid 10+ years ago. Second, anything older then 7 years is suppose to be taken off the person's credit. Here in the good 'ol US of A, companies look at a applicant's credit and determine if they should be hired of not. Which makes sense because if you can't handle your money, why should I let you handle my money, merchandise, and customers? The problem is that there are a TON of people, like myself, that has screwed up credit for reasons out of their control (like the one I mentioned, stolen Credit Cards, Hospital bills, etc). So we can't get get jobs because of our "bad" credit. Even tough we want to pay the bills, we can't because WE CAN'T GET A JOB. It's a endless circle that many of us can't get out of. And yes, I have unpaid hospital bills. Like $2500 to drive me 3 miles to the hospital in a ambulance. WHAT?! If I had known that, I would have gotten up and walked to the the bloody hospital after being hit!!! Screw the blood coming from my head.
