I'm pretty much on board for that, except for the whole partnering you with various human NPCs.
I think Halo 3's lack of Cortana hurt it a little. And the way 343 has been going with the whole "make you feel super human" / "suit like a fighter jet", partnering you with meager humans (heh) might detract from that.

I really hope they give a honestly good explanation for her coming back though. A half-ass explanation will piss off fans far too much.
