Why not just bring back Skirmishers? I know that Skirmishers and Promethean Soldiers might not play similar, but the Promethean Knight/Soldier/Watcher/Crawler setup diminishes what the Forerunner should be able to do. It doesn't provide anything new to the gameplay that couldn't have been covered with new Covenant ranks and species. The Forerunner should have been something completely new, something other than the Covenant's mix of mooks and elite troops.
