Whats the downside to free maps?

Okay, so Halo 5 won't have paid maps, woo. yay.

But now that the hype dust has settled down, I'm starting to wonder what the trade off was for allowing this. what suddenly isn't free anymore? armors? weapon skins? emblems? game modes?

Microsoft didn't just become nice guys and turn the other cheek when it came to DLC, it made them allot of money with the previous Halos and still do. something was negotiated here in order to allow free maps.

Think anyone can sift around, see if Josh or Frankie said something.
