Re: Spartan Locke armor pre-order at GS.
: District management must be really shitty where you live. Either that, or
: district management down here in the Augusta area is better than the norm.
: I've never had a bad experience once in the probably 15 years or so
: they've been around here and I've bought most of my games from them
: (though recently I've been buying a lot from Amazon because they run some
: great sales; I got Alien Isolation and Far Cry 4 for $40 each back in
: February). At least I've never had a bad experience as a customer. I
: wouldn't recommend working there unless you're just looking for a 2-month
: summer job, because the whole company is apparently designed to have
: massive rates of turnover for base-level employees. The only people I see
: that stay for more than a season are managers. Maybe that's why so many
: people have bad experiences. It's probably hard to get good service when
: most of the employees have been there for only a few weeks and are told
: that quotas for preorders and Game Informer subs are paramount.
How big are their districts? I've had the same issue all over upstate NY and once in Florida.
The employees are usually nice enough, but their company policies are designed to screw you over if you want to bring in used games. One time, I returned a stack of 360 games and they said that they all together were only worth ONE CENT. Store credit was like $5. If I sold the same games online, I could've made $20-30.
Long story short, I'm using a local business instead and it's been a much better experience.
