: It feels like the same as FUD, we just watch a bunch of cookie-cutter
: characters running around and panting heavily as they are pursued by
: rarely-seen CGI enemies who don't really match the lore(Why haven't the
: Covenant utilized Lekgolo worms like this before? They look a lot more
: efficient in combat than the normal Mgalekgolo we usually fight.)
: It's not bad... it's just not good.
I've yet to see this series (no X1) but I'm downloading the episodes and editing them together into longer videos. Based on the everyone's comments here, I hope this makes it more enjoyable to watch. Cause I found FUD pretty dull til I saw it all in one shot.
Like I've said, I've yet to watch it, but from the trailer, I guessed that what I saw dissolve into beaked slugs were the Mgalekgolo. If that's the case, then I like to believe the Covenant didn't use them tin that manner because Bungie couldn't make it work at the time, tech wise, for the game. And to my knowledge, it's still not possible. And adding it to the Novels would only end up in us fans demanding it in the game. But as game tech improves, I'm betting 343i has something similar planned for Halo5.
But I also like to think that the Mgalekgolo are simply not strong nor smart enough to work independently. Which is why they are always in a group/pack. Unlike the Flood, they don't work as one mind. They must group up first to accomplish goals. But over they years, they have learned to attack and share a mind so long as they are w/in proximity of one another. Something that started back when they first took up arms as Hunter Pairs. But now, they have learned to use a wifi type connection between them selves, thus allowing them to swarm and attack.
To me the Mgelkgolo are very much like the Flood Spores. But operate more like the Drones and the Grunts. They each have their own brain and thoughts and can perform simple tasks alone, but as a group, they are capable of so much more. Which is true with any species of course. Except the Flood, which are of one mind that they build on to.
i wonder what would happen if two Graveminds ever met. Each will have their own mind and army. Would they work together or fight? Or would they just become one mind? And if so, then how do they decide which mind becomes the dominant one?
