The problem I had with Halo 4 was not that it did things differently. I don't believe a game like Halo can stay how it was in Halo 2 or 3 without changing up the formula. Halo 4 attempted this, but the problem it had was that it wasn't balanced and that the base gameplay of Halo doesn't fit with the additions. Loadouts and killstreaks are fine in games like CoD where the killtimes are in the split-seconds, but in a game like Halo where you have to spend a decent amount of time shooting an opponent before they die, it doesn't work and ultimately leads to exploits and everyone doing the same thing to get faster kills.

I have no problems with the Spartan Abilities, and the reasoning for that is simple. Everyone has it, and the Beta coming out (on my birthday, no less) is a full year ahead of Halo 5's release, meaning 343i has plenty of time to continue this 'listening to the fans' streak they're having and fix and tune things to near perfection. Halo requires things like this. A level playing field is key to keeping Halo 'Halo'.

Oh, and one more thing. So much of this movement style trend on console FPS is funny because PC FPS fans have always had it. Quake even had quick-dodges.
