Yeah, it honestly seems like the fan feedback only applies to correcting the mistakes in the competitive arena. They seem a bit too proud to admit that their art hasn't been well received. Sure, no one likes hearing that their art sucks, but these people did come into a series with a well established style and shake it up, leading many long-time fans to find their beloved fandom somewhat unrecognizable.
