Re: Xbone on SDTV? help?
BTW I'm not party to the whole "HD sucks" thing, I don't have strong feelings on it one way or the other because I've barely seen it. We actually have three HD-capable TVs in the house now and they're not showing HD pictures because of a lack of the right cabling and a lack of care to locate, buy, and plug in the cabling (not really on my part, but then I never pushed for it). Now someone will wonder why those wouldn't work. The thing is they're in use, and two of them are mounted on walls (so we can't swap a CRT for them) and the third is way too big to fit in either of the two places the console might be.
I will say I don't care for the aspect ratio though, 16:9 feels too wide to me; even if it should be that way and even possibly be wider since we have two eyes that are side by side and have space between them. Partly I think the vertical resolution and screen space should be maximized but largely it just doesn't feel right, although now that I think about it I've gotten used to this 16:10 computer monitor. As for using this, I could, but I'd have to move things over and disconnect and reconnect things and probably move a TV out of the way and get adapters anyway because it takes VGA and DVI and the speakers have the standard small phone jack.
