It would do it for me.
If XBO launched with a Halo, I'd have budgeted for it. As it stands, I haven't had a significant enough reason to put priority on getting one, though I may have funds for one shortly. Count me in the crowd of people who would bump the XBO on the must-have list, if this remastered campaign series is confirmed (especially if demonstrated at E3 and I'm impressed with what I see).
I'm not so 'nostalgic' as to restrict myself to only play the original versions on original hardware. I love the story - so if the graphics and visual experience are improved, and the core gameplay are essentially untouched, then I'm a happy camper. I prefer to relive the story more than the "game" experience.
