H2 MP was a proven success. People absolutely adored it. Halo 4's MP is a proven failure, as indicated by Halo 4's less-than-graceful tumble from the top of the live activity charts. Package Halo 2's multiplayer up for the One, fix a few networking issues, and you've got a successful Halo multiplayer game again that will keep people interested in the franchise until Halo 5 is released. Too many people left the community because Halo 4 was so bad... too many people left THIS community because Halo 4 was so bad. And considering the diehards we have here, that's a serious issue. Microsoft needs to find a way to keep these individuals interested in the franchise, because it's been a year and a half since some of these people last touched Halo's multiplayer, and it'll be close to 3 years for them by the time Halo 5 comes out, and they likely will have long stopped caring at that point.

H2 MP would be a temporary measure just to keep people interested in the franchise until Halo 5 releases.
